When you see the word M A T Z O You automatically think Pesach, however this is actually a recipe I use all year round. It happens to also be a great Pesach recipe too...I get asked all the time what my recipe is so I figured now would be the perfect time to share.
PS: Can you believe it’s almost Pesach already?! Are you ready? I’m not!
PS: did you know matzo balls are one of my favorite foods?!
Tip: you can cook the matzo balls directly into your chicken soup instead of in boiling water if your soup is boiling!
Recipe: (This recipe is from my mother)
1 cup matzo meal
1/2 cup oil
4 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon salt
Mix all the ingredients together, refrigerate for 30 minutes. Boil a pot of water, Form the matzo ball mix into balls and drop them into the boiling water ( bare in mind they grow!). Cook for 20 minutes on low flame. Shut the flame and cover the pot and let them sit.
